Simple Eats, 5/20
Hi friends! Welcome back to Simple Eats!
I hope you enjoyed the two salads we made last week. We focused on our local superfoods; Radishes and Sprouts. We whipped up a cucumber and radish salad and a really simple bean sprout salad.
This week we will continue with out local superfood theme. We will be focusing on the following ingredients:
Cherries: Cherries are a great snack. They have a very low glycemic index of 22. Their glycemic level is lower than most fruits, including: apricots, grapes, peaches, blueberries and plums.
Squash: Fun fact: squash is very high in the mineral magnesium which helps the breakdown and digestion of fats and carbohydrates!
